About Us
Our Story
A real labor of love , thread butter was created by New York - based textile connoisseur , Gerri Tobias.
Gerri has worked in the textile industry for over 30 years . Having spent decades visiting artisans around the world to learn about the source of their crafts , Gerri felt that everybody should be given the opportunity to experience the beautiful products she encountered on her travels.
Born out of the desire , and created during the global pandemic, thread butter gives the artisans a chance to share their creations with others on an international scale.
thread butter only shares items that Gerri loves and have been sourced responsibly. A portion of our profits goes to women in small villages in Peru
Gerri lives with her family in New York City .
